Both train drivers by trade, Chiara & Lachlan drew inspiration from their shared abode when it came to the ceremony and reception decor, which meant greenery, greenery and yep, more greenery! Naturally, we thoroughly condone their styling choices. Paired with Pomp & Splendour’s bright blooms everything came together perfectly. These two were also lucky enough to snag Melbourne Entertainment Company for tunes and Elsa Campbell to capture the day in full. Scroll down to catch it all for yourself…

THE INSPO “We drew inspiration simply from what we are like as a couple, we wanted a contemporary vibe, nothing too stuffy, and I think we nailed it. Our venues contributed to the overall modern feel, paired with simple yet thought out details.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “I am a huge Beatles fan, and our wedding car was THE Austin Princess that the Fab Four used during their 1964 Melbourne tour. How cool is that? We rocked out to The Beatles on the way to the ceremony. The flowers from Pomp and Splendour were also incredible, such a pop of colour, they adorned the tables and really were such a statement. However, our favourite thing about the whole day was our ring bearer Aldo, our Old English Sheepdog who stole the show. I’m so glad he could be part of our special day.”

DIY “Aldo wore a tuxedo vest which I lovingly handmade, using an old velvet bow tie that belonged to my dad when he was younger.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “My dad is a man of VERY few words so it was especially wonderful hearing his heartfelt speech. I’ll never forget the sound of our guests as I walked down the aisle, (I use the word “walk” loosely as I got a bit carried away and practically tore down the aisle, dragging my dad along and leaving those closest to the aisle with whiplash) or the roar as we were introduced at Alto. As Melbourne had spent a long 12 months in and out of lockdown, everyone was well and truly ready to party, and party they did!”

LITTLE LOL “My brother in law (my husband’s Best mMan) popped in to see us girls whilst we were getting ready at home and ended up staying for half of the morning. I felt touched that he wanted to spend time with me until later that day it was revealed that he just had the hots for my hairstylist.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m glad we had a short and sweet ceremony officiated by Paul. He has such a great sense of humour, there were plenty of laughs during the ceremony, it was perfect. I’m also glad we stopped for ice cream during our portraits, we were all so dehydrated. I’ve never had a more refreshing ice cream in my life.”
