Zoe and Leigh have known each other for an age. So long, in fact, that Zoe recalls Leigh trying to hook up with her when they were both teenagers. After a romantic proposal on a family trip to the Grampians Zoe walked down the aisle in a super sweet Rue de Seine gown. Lens lady Tanya Voltchanskaya was there to capture the ‘wedfest’ vibes. THE VENUE “We love Leigh’s parent’s property, it’s just such a beautiful property and there is so much love there, we wouldn’t have it anywhere else.”
DIY “A lot of it we built like our Bar Caravan – “The Rambler”. We also built the tables, the bench seats, we made the barn curtains, foraged flowers did the styling and floral arrangements and had friends help with the grazing table.”
THE DRESS “My dress is by Rue de Seine, the “Raven”. I had looked in a few bridal shops, but for the relaxed festival style wedding we wanted I just felt it didn’t fit so the Raven was perfect.”
LITTLE LOLS “Asking the bridesmaid Rachy to grab limes to find out she spent $50 on limes! Doesn’t sound funny, but it was hilarious. The groom busting his signature “drunk” moves on the dance floor (usually a pretty shy guy) was another great moment. Also, dropping a pizza down the front of my wedding dress trying to pass it to Leigh.”
WE’RE GLAD WE…“got food trucks as it added to the festival vibe. I’m also glad Leigh’s Mum Mitzi came through with the goods – She had been cooking and freezing sausages rolls to bring out when everyone was still partying in the early hours of the morning – Good on ya Mitzi!!!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “When I first met Tanya and showed Leigh her work, we were so happy to have chosen her to capture our day. She didn’t disappoint – we had the best time getting snapped by her! She just made the time go so fast, no boring cringy posing, just a completely relaxed and natural vibe! She understood us and we loved it – So by far our favourite decision! We did also love both Tim and Lisa duo and The Medley Boys!”
