Pippy and Henri took the idea of having an epic house party to a whole new level. Married at Henri’s parent’s home in Myponga, South Australia their day, captured by photographer Nikki Langmead, was all about sweet beats and good times. And the view? Well, we think that speaks for itself.

“Henri’s parents have gone to a lot of effort to ensure the plants at their house in Myponga are all native to the area. We wanted our wedding to reflect the native Australian vibe mixed with a relaxed look. We wanted all of our friends and family to feel comfortable and like it was more of a gathering of friends rather than a formal wedding”, says Pippy who never felt the need follow tradition. “I knew I didn’t want a very traditional wedding dress but I still wanted it to look somewhat like a wedding dress so I opted for a short knee-length style”, she says, explaining how after many failed shopping adventures, it was Red Pearl Couture who came to the rescue.

Their arbour, made by Pippy’s brother-in-law was one of many handmade items created especially for their day. While the Old Refinery provided a few decorative bits and pieces, the majority of it was done in house. “We had our mum’s, aunt’s and Henri’s sister in-law bake all the cakes and desserts… and the bridesmaids put together all the bouquets”, says Pippy who, with careful guidance from her Norwegian Nana, baked a traditional Norwegian celebration cake.

Being not only a dad, but a DJ too Henri made sure that their playlist would have guests dancing in his parent’s lounge room all night long. And judging by these images, it seems he was successful.
