THE VENUE “Our very first date was a wedding at The Boathouse Palm Beach. I went as Jason’s plus one. It was one of the best nights of my life. We knew straight away it had to be there.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “It was all perfect. Duan & Only my musician [at the ceremony] was amazing, he really set the vibe, as well as my celebrant. Claire Belford is such a pro. My flowers were also stunning, the arch was incredible. Most weddings at Lucinda Park face the water, but my stylist and I decided to spin the ceremony around to face North. The arch sat in front of a cute row of old boats with big palm trees behind them which gave it a more coastal feel. I also loved my outfit change at the reception. As soon as I put on my Stone Cold Fox jumpsuit it was time to party.”
THE DRESS “Made with Love was the first and only bridal shop I went to. I just so happened to get an appointment the day before I went via someone cancelling, so I decided to just head in with no intentions what so ever to buy a dress. As soon as I walked in I saw the dress hanging off to the side and asked immediately what size it was. It was too small for me so we disregarded it and I started trying a couple of dresses I’d seen online. Eventually, Kelly, the shop assistant helped me squeeze into the original dress and to my surprise we got the zipper up. It took my breath away. With the veil, it was just perfect. Classy, sexy and exactly was I had in mind. Kelly even started crying which I’m not sure is normal or not, but it did give me goosebumps. I bought it and never looked back.”
REFERENCES “I found Scott Surplice Photography on Instagram. His down to earth style caught my eye straight away, as well as one particular wedding at The Boathouse he did which was on his blog, which made my final decision. I’ve known Dani from The Make Haus for years, she’s got a very good reputation for anything style related and is the go-to on the Northern Beaches.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Do it in six months if you can. Get it booked while your newly-engaged, otherwise you will overthink it. And go on a delayed honeymoon so you can draw the whole process out as much as you can and you’ll have something to look forward to post-wedding.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m really glad I got a photo booth, I deliberated over it for ages, but I’m so glad I booked In An Instant Photo Booth. I was worried it would be a distraction, but it was so much fun and made it more like a big party. All ages loved it.”

The Make Haus– Dani is incredible- she’s a beautiful person, humble and chilled, but absolutely nailed my brief. Duan & Only– What a cool dude! He has such a beautiful voice, all his music is unique, as he does his own spin of originals. I highly recommend him. The Boathouse Palm Beach was an amazing venue and the event manager, Julia, was awesome. They are super chilled which I loved, so easy to deal with and gave me awesome recommendations. The service was relaxed and fun but professional.”
