After a New Years Romance, nearly a decade together and a proposal in Italy (over cheese and wine, no less), Lauren & Chris expected big things from their wedding day, and boy, oh boy, did their vendors deliver. Hope X Page sorted the bride for her gown and Cushla Whiting Jewellery took care of her wedding band, The Future Mrs was on both hair and makeup and The Boat House essentially took care of everything else! Best of all, Lara of All Grown Up Weddings was on hand snapping up a storm. The whole coastal shebang is just a scroll away…

THE VENUE “The Boathouse was the first venue we looked at. It ticked all the boxes in terms of it being a relaxed vibe, beautiful views and a great menu. Biggest tick though was that The Boathouse team basically did everything for us, which took a lot of pressure off. They set-up our ceremony location in a local park, all flowers and decorations were included, and they even did our delicious cake.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The Bollinger Boat! This was an added extra at The Boathouse but it was totally worth it. It was a red dingy Bollinger-branded boat that was full of Bollinger champagne. Needless to say, we drank it all! Other than that, the ceremony set-up was my favourite. It was such a special spot with an incredible view and the flower arrangements done by The Boathouse were beautiful.”

THE DRESS “I picked a very simple and classic silk slip style dress by French brand A La Robe. I got the dress at Hope X Page, which was only the second dress store I went to. They had a really nice curated selection, I tried on a lot that I really liked. But the A La Robe felt perfect for me. It was minimal and very comfortable, and I loved how sleek it was. It was also a perfect base to accessorise – I had amazing shoes, a veil for the ceremony and a headpiece for the reception”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t overthink it. The options can be a bit overwhelming, so remember you don’t need to look at every option out there. If you find something you like, just go with it.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…”did our speech right after the ceremony. After signing our marriage certificate and having lots of celebratory hugs with family and friends, Chris and I took the time to thank everyone and say a little something about each other. It meant we didn’t have to worry about it later in the night, and basically all the formalities were done straight away.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We both really connected with Rosie (our celebrant) and Lara (our photographer). Lara was so easy-going and made us feel really relaxed. Photos can be awkward but she made it completely natural and fun. She also loved our music mix and as strange as it sounds, it kind of felt like we’d be friends for ages. And our photos speak for themselves in terms of how great she is at her work. Rosie was everything we could have wanted in a celebrant and an all-round totally amazing woman. She encouraged us to be ourselves, so our ceremony and vows were light-hearted, a bit of fun, and a real reflection of us as a couple. I know I’m biased but it was the nicest ceremony I’ve ever been to. Lots of our guests said the same, and I think Rosie was a big part of that. I also can’t speak highly enough about Andrea Black [The Future Mrs] who did my hair and makeup. I felt a million dollars (and looked it, if I do say so myself). She even saved my dress when I got a very spontaneous nosebleed right before leaving the house for the ceremony!”
