We make no secret of our adoration for deep, moody styling, so when we came across this oh-so-lush shoot by the fabulous team at Bow Creative, you just know it was love at first sight. Lilac has been trending in a big way, and Bow Creative nailed it with this edgy yet luxe concept, which transformed one of Melbourne’s newest wedding venues, the industrial chic brewery Stomping Ground. “Lilac is often considered a soft pastel so we wanted to take it for a journey to a darker, more brusque world,” Kath of Bow Creative explained.

Now, the ultra-clever Bow Creative don’t do things by halves, so they pulled together an absolute dream team, including Maegan Brown Moments on pics. Scroll on for the legends that made it happen, and what you’ve been waiting for: the edgy mauve magic they created together.

MAEGAN BROWN MOMENTS
Maegan Brown is all about vibes. No matter the project, she soaks up all of those feels, and turns them into art. This shoot was no different, and Bow Creative knew that she would be the perfect lenslady for the job. Her style has been described as “modern, candid and warm, with an editorial edge and a dash of moodiness,” and we couldn’t agree with the summary more. Her raw, high fashion approach captured the inspo immaculately and brought all of our lilac dreams to life.

STOMPING GROUND MOORABBIN
The architecture of Stomping Ground Moorabbin was very much a source of inspo for the team. “The bricks and grey concrete were the perfect canvas and sparked so many ideas in terms of textures that could complement them,” Kath shares of the styling.

TWEED TWIGS
Tweed Twigs was Bow Creative’s right-hand man when it came to styling those jaw-dropping florals. He took his inspiration from “the industrial roots of Morris Moor and of produce that would have been common in that period.” Who knew that mixing spring garlic, red cabbage, tulips and lavender could look this mesmerising?

LADYBIRD CAKES
Ladybird Cakes have solidified themselves as a leading Melbourne cake-maker, and no, it’s not just because their masterpieces are super scrummy (but that sure helps). Retro cakes are all the rage at the moment, and we’re big fans of this sophisticated take.

OUI THE LABEL
This playful Oui the Label number (from Maison Oui) not only looked fab in this shoot, but is the perfect reception or elopement mini, too. The dramatic puff sleeves, sleek Mikado silk and accentuated waist pull together to create the perfect party dress. Oh, and did we mention it has pockets?!

BY KINSMAN
Maegan Brown’s dreamy, candid shooting style boasts a perfect amount of movement, so what better gown for it than this By Kinsman stunner? The intricacy of the embellishments are other worldly, with feathers and sequins designed to appear as if they’re floating on air.

MEGGAN MORIMOTO
Meggan Morimoto is our Queen of both comfort and versatility. You wouldn’t know it, but the striking georgette blossoms on these mules are in fact detachable, meaning that you have two pairs of shoes in one. Genius. They were the ultimate finishing touch to the Oui the Label mini, tying the whole look together.

DOVE GREY BRIDAL
As soon as we saw this take on a veil we knew who was responsible for it. Oversized bows are having a (well deserved) moment, and nobody nails ‘unbridal’ like Dove Grey.

MONTY ADAMS
Because who doesn’t love diamonds, are we right or are we right? These stunning sparklers courtesy of Monty Adams Jewellery are nothing short of breathtaking, and we’re all about the art deco twist on a contemporary style, too

STUDIO NARD
We love that stationery trends are all about shapes at the moment. It’s a cutting edge way to jazz up an elegant classic typeface, so that paper goods can make a statement of their own. Take the snazzy menus included in this shoot as a prime example!

TWINKLING TABLETOPS
There’s a reason why you rarely see tablescapes without candles. The dim lighting provides a heavenly ambience, and these wavy tapers from Twinkling Tabletops happen to look pretty darn incred, too.

Now with all that in mind, scroll down and start pinning people! Oh and and if you want to see it in print, head on over to our online store, where you’ll find it in Issue 39, along with so much other wedding goodness! You can also head to our Directory for more from the talented Maegan Brown Moments, Ladybird Cakes, Dove Grey Bridal, Maison Oui and Meggan Morimoto. Phew. Ok, you know what to do…
