These are two pretty darn impressive gals, people. A Registered Nurse (in intensive care, less) and a marine technician in the Navy… we weren’t kidding! And they had one darn impressive wedding, too. It’s bright and fun and throws tradition out the window. In actual fact it’s a reception party only (as they eloped a few days prior) and to top it off, it’s at the pub! THE VENUE “We had originally booked a venue in Marrickville prior to COVID, however, unfortunately, the venue ended up shutting down and we lost some money in the process. This put us off planning for a little while, which is when we came to the decision to elope. [But] we still wanted to celebrate and put on a party with all of our loved ones, so we picked one of favourite pubs in Newtown to help us celebrate, Coopers Hotel.”
THE INSPO “We just wanted to have a really colourful and fun vibe, the focus on the day was to be relaxed about enjoying everyone’s company.”
FAVE DETAILS “The staff at Coopers Hotel were absolutely amazing. They put so much energy and time into helping us have the best night. The Cake made by Lani’s Cakes was stunning and everyone raved about how delicious it was! And our backdrop by Bangin Hangins. It just added such fun vibe to the party and looks unreal in our photos! Overall, we were just really happy with how everything came together as we did most of the styling and decorations ourselves!”
MARRIAGE MEANS… “It feels so special and important because when we first started dating it still wasn’t even an option for us to be legally married. Watching the whole process play out of the postal vote was emotionally exhausting but to now be on the other side and celebrate our love is so special.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had a separate elopement on a different day. It helped us recharge our batteries and just take it all in a bit more!”

He took such amazing shots of the party as well as taking us around Newtown and just helping us feel super relaxed and in the moment.”
