Following a true Aussie proposal “while travelling in the Red Centre – the loop from Alice Springs to Uluru and back” Amelia and Harry had two very different ideas of their dream big day… “Harry wanted a traditional wedding, and I was very much about eloping,” explains the bride. “After some serious thinking, I came around.” Well, we couldn’t be happier, ‘cause look how darn cute this wedding is guys! HM fave Scott Surplice Photography was in charge of capturing all the details, and the photos are incredible. See you for yourself  after hearing from the happy couple…

THE VENUE “We were intent on a garden ceremony, it offered the setting that we both were looking for to convey our ‘natural growth’ of love if you will. Palm House set the foundation for our ceremony, traditionally used for cultivating new plant life and supporting growth and strength, it provided the appropriate backdrop for us. And we both had Porteno in mind from the beginning, wanting the day to be as much about our love of eating and sharing great food and wine with our guests. Porteno is a Sydney institution and we feel very privileged to have held our wedding with them.”

THE DRESS “The L’eto Bridal dress I picked was in the first few I had found online when I started looking. After showing my mum online she couldn’t picture it on, so I kept looking feeling a bit dismayed, however I couldn’t talk myself out of the L’eto dress or get it off my mind, so booked in for the try on. My mum was astounded when I put it on, saying something like ‘how did you know?!’. I guess when you know your body, and listening to your intuition you just realise the dress for you!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “Arrived at the reception venue before our guests. We’re really glad we did this, as it gave us a private moment to decompress together and take it all in. It’s important to steal that time away alone, even if it’s brief.”

STANDOUT VENDORScott Surplice Photography made it such a breeze to keep it casual in front of the camera. His direction is completely intuitive and we hardly noticed him buzzing around, a sign of his craft and how he captures the moment so naturally.”
