After 11 years together, Amy said she still had no idea Luke was about to propose. “Luke took me down to Wilson’s Prom in Victoria and dragged me up a trail to a huge rock that looks out to amazing views… in thongs that I complained about the whole time. He dropped a knee and I nearly passed out and immediately started crying. I was so happy.” The pair decided they wanted an intimate celebration with family that would also double as a holiday. Winning all round! Enter Elope, who helped plan their day of days at Byron Bay’s Fig Tree Restaurant. Amy wore a totally gorg Jessica Couture gown, completing the look with a Natalie Marie Jewellery ring, and the oh-so-fab Beck Rocchi was on photos…
THE DRESS “It was an absolute fluke. After coming out of months of lockdown and not being able to shop for dresses and a creeping up wedding date, I thought my options would be limited. As soon as stores opened I made two appointments for the same day. The first one was at Raffaele Ciuca in Armadale. I tried on a handful of different dresses, then the lady helping me suggested my Jessica Couture gown and I was instantly in love, tears and everything. I just loved how I really felt like myself in it. And I was done. Cancelled my second appointment. Couldn’t believe it!”
THE INSPO “I would say the overall vibe was romantic and a little bit whimsical. After I found my Jessica Couture dress, I kind of set the tone around that.”
DIY “I did the stationery myself as I’m a graphic designer.”
FAVE DEETS “I really loved our table setting. It was everything I could have imagined – it was warm and colourful, the details were beautiful. Another special detail from the day was my something old – it was a silk flower passed down from Luke’s grandmother’s bouquet that was 65 years old.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “I have to say the lady that made our whole day was our beautiful photographer Beck Rocchi. She was amazing! “
