For Ashleigh and Chelcey, marriage means, “endless adventures and laughs with my best friend, the only one who gets my humour,” says Ash. “Someone who challenges me in carpool karaoke battles. For the rest of my life always having to re-stack the dishwasher after Chelc has packed it because she never does it right… Virgo things.”

Adds Chelc, “It’s a time to reset an already fulfilled relationship and a great time for Ash  to re-negotiate our relationship contract –  a contract that consists of everything I hate doing, eg. washing clothes.” Lol! Six months after welcoming their baby girl, Quinn, the lovebirds tied the knot, calling in super-talented lens lady Emma Macaulay to capture the day – and we think you’ll agree, the shots are phenom.

THE VIBE “Coastal luxe/modern country. Warmth. Inclusivity.”

THE VENUE “The weekend of the proposal we booked  lunch at Meelup Farmhouse and it was their opening weekend. Their sister venue, Little Bay, is our local in Perth and their new venue down south did not disappoint. It was us to a tee! Chilled coastal luxe vibes. We spend so much time in Eagle Bay and this was just US. That same weekend we asked about wedding bookings and they didn’t even have a package yet, we were the first to enquire!”

FAVE DETAILS “The celebrant planning for our guests to announce us wife and wife with a champagne toast was super special. The naked teepee with fairy lighting and wooden dance floor was also a standout WOW factor for us.”

LITTLE LOL “Two weeks out from the wedding I [Ash] had my hair dyed blonde. The first time I washed it about a week after I thought I was using purple shampoo but in fact it was actually ‘blue hair dye’. When I stepped out the shower my hair was blue… very stressed! I had to use bicarb and dishwashing liquid to try to strip the blue colouring out. I repeated this process everyday until a few days before the wedding and managed to get it out!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Waiting to get married and prioritising having a baby first was a super special moment for us, and important to have this memory of our baby being present at the wedding.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our videographer, Teagan of O’Brien Originals, photographer Emma Macaulay and celebrant Tahnee of The Tilers Wife. They were just the ultimate hype girls on the day and got our brief as well which made us feel at ease. Lots of laughs and never too serious, which helped us to relax. Our videographer Teagan (‘Teago’) also actually babysat our daughter Quinn for us so we could attend our hens’ night!”

To find the very best WA-based vendors, we definitely suggest checking out our directory – there are so many great folks there, fabulous photographer Emma MacAuley included!
