After a seaside proposal at their favourite beach Ricketts Point, Bec and Jason “were so excited for a party, we just got straight into the wedding planning!” Six months later they held their nups at Melbourne’s awesome Post Office Hotel, with the equally awesome Nat Sproal Celebrant officiating and Kyra Boyer tasked with capturing the mems. “There was so much love and joy in the room it was just magic,” the newlyweds tell us. What more could  you ask for?! And when your gown sparks this much joy, those good vibes are guaranteed. Scroll down for all the stunning photos…

THE VENUE “I made a spreadsheet of central Melbourne venues that had minimal noise restrictions and maximum flexibility! We visited five venues on one Saturday and instantly knew that the Post Office Hotel was the place for us! They were flexible and full of great suggestions and we loved the lay out of the venue.”

THE DRESSI had seen the Rachel Gilbert Nya gown online months before we were engaged and loved it instantly. It just had the perfect amount of colour but also had a white base and I knew it was what I would want to wear if we were ever to get married. The weekend we got engaged, I jumped onto the Rachel Gilbert website and was shattered to see it was no longer available! Eventually I made an appointment at another store for a fitting, but never made it! On a Friday night on my way to dinner I saw the Nya gown hanging up in the Rachel Gilbert Emporium store, it had just been re-stocked, it was in my size, I tried it on and knew instantly that I had found my wedding dress!”

REFERENCES “We used the Hello May directory to help make our shortlist of venues and we also found our celebrant Nat Sproal from the directory. Once we booked in Post Office Hotel and Nat Sproal Celebrant we spoke to them about other vendors they would recommend and that is how we got onto Kyra Boyer and Dane from Killer Queen Creative. ”

MEMORABLE MOMENTWe snuck off to a rooftop briefly after the ceremony for some golden hour photos with Kyra . We had a playlist playing, a perfect sunset, fresh air and a little bit of time to just chat and be together as the two of us after the big adrenaline rush that happens at the end of the ceremony!”

THOUGHTFUL CUSTOM “We have lost some beautiful friends to mental illness so in lieu of wedding favours we made a donation to Beyond Blue.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We honestly could not have been happier with all of our vendors. Nat was helpful, wise, relaxed and gave off ‘cool Aunty’ vibes, she whispered the right things in our ears during the ceremony to calm our nerves and she had our guests both laughing and crying throughout the ceremony! Kyra was an absolute gem, she was easy going but also helped guide us through the day of photographs, and we were absolutely over the moon with how well the photographs turned out! I would absolutely recommend picking vendors that know each other and enjoy working with together, everything ran like a well-oiled machine because everyone knew how each other worked.”
