After a super romantic sunset proposal while holidaying on the beautiful island of Kastellorizo where the groom’s relatives are from (and on their 15-year anniversary, no less), Dani and Ant returned to the magical Greek paradise to become Mr and Mrs. The couple tried, where they could, to employ local vendors to bring their vision to life, which included the stunning florals made up of “local flora and herbs from the island such as oregano, peppercorns, bougainvillea, pomegranates and olive leaves”. But they also had some standout Aussies along for the ride – Dani was drop dead gorg in Grace Loves Lace, and one of our fave lens ladies in all the land Maegan Brown Moments was in charge of taking photos… which, trust us, you’re going to want to see.

THE VENUE “The ceremony location was a no brainer for me. I fell in love with the little white chapel on the picturesque Island of St. George, surrounded by stunning turquoise waters. We had a few venues in mind for our reception, however Mikro Parisi was recommended to us by our wedding planner. We loved that it was a local family run Taverna which had great, authentic Greek food and it’s location was private with a lovely view overlooking the harbour.”

THE DRESS “The dress was from Grace Loves Lace. I had seen it in a blog and knew that the style would suit me and it was exactly what I was looking for – boho, comfortable and light. It was the first dress I tried on and even though I tried on others, I kept comparing them to it so I bit the bullet and bought it.”

THE INSPO “We really wanted it to be rustic, relaxed and a little bit boho. As the island is so beautiful and unique, we didn’t want to take away too much from it and tried to use as many local elements as possible. ”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “On our way to our portraits location after the ceremony, all the local bar owners pulled us aside for ceremonious shots (along with our photographer Maegan Brown Moments and videographer Cinema of Poetry lol). On the way to the reception we must have been stopped by three bars and by the time we got there we were well and truly tipsy!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We stuck to our guns and decided to get married at the small chapel at Saint Georges Island even though logistically it was a challenge.  We’re also very happy we increased our budget for photography and videography because at the end of the day this is what you remember your wedding day by.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Massive shout out to our photographer Maegan and videographer Kostas, who are both amazing and worked so well as a team, only having met each other the day before.”
