The love story of Belle and Jack is a sweet one guys. They met at a wedding… “I was the photographer and Belle was the MC,” explains the dapper groom, who wore M.J. Bale down the aisle. “We chatted on the night, and at the end of the event, Jack left without giving me his number or even his last name. So, I pulled out all the stops and eventually tracked him down on Facebook about three days later, sliding into his DMs,” adds the bride. Fast forward almost five years and here we are. House of Lucie documented their love on the day and you can see it all below, along with our chat with the happy couple…
LITTLE LOL “Jack’s brother is in a psych-rock band, called Peel. We love going to their gigs, so we thought ‘who better to play at our wedding?’ I think some of our friends and family were more than a bit surprised when we told them that Peel was going to play, but we knew it would be amazing, and they absolutely killed it. Even Jack’s grandma was on the dance floor!”
THE VENUE “We both knew wanted a country-style wedding. I can’t say enough good things about Kimo Estate. They were fantastic in the planning stage, were so accommodating with our requests, and there was a lack of ‘red tape’, so we really felt like we had a blank canvas to put together our perfect day. Our guests were blown away with the venue and the staff at Kimo.”
FAVE DETAILS “Our close friends brought their cream, vintage Volkswagen Combi all the way from Mackerel Beach in Sydney, for us to use as the wedding car. We also loved the floral concept that Laurel & Lace put together for us. I gave her a brief of ‘wildflowers’ with a warm colour palette. She came up with the idea of having the flowers ‘growing’ out of the ground for the ceremony. Our family friends, Michelle and Harry, made the cake and arrived early on the day to assemble it, which we are so grateful for.”
THE DRESS “My dress was from L’eto Bridal. Anya from L’eto couldn’t have been more helpful. I loved the asymmetrical neckline. L’eto also made my veil, which had custom-embroidery along the edge – a flowering gum motif. We got married under this beautiful big gum, which tied in beautifully. I then swapped the veil for some off-white tulle gloves for the reception.”
THE SUIT “My suit and the groomsmen suits were from M.J. Bale. I chose a cream linen suit for a relaxed look. We went into M.J. Bale in Woollahra for two fittings with all my groomsmen. The service was fantastic.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “When I was waiting for Belle to arrive for the ceremony, it was a little bit cloudy. Then, when she arrived, this ray of sunshine shone straight down the aisle and stayed out for the whole ceremony. We couldn’t believe it – it only shone on the two of us. You can see it in the photos, lighting up Belle’s veil.”
CUTE CUSTOM “We asked Jack’s two grandmothers to be our witnesses.”

Jack and I always comment on how were so glad we spent the money on having an amazing photographer as we will cherish our photos forever. Also, Victoria Pearson, our amazing marriage celebrant. She was so caring and genuine in the lead-up to the day – a pleasure to work with.”
