These two put the ‘sweet’ in high school sweethearts. Bianca and Josh have been together since their final year of school, but they were friends long before coupling up – in fact they met in Year 3! Symbolising their unique love story, their day in the Gold Coast hinterland was full of sentimental and ultra-romantic details as well as a whole lotta wow factor, when the bride chopped her locks off mid-reception. Yes girl!
Having worked in the wedding industry themselves (they owned a photography biz for five years) Bianca and Josh had witnessed their fair share of nuptials, so it’s no wonder these newlyweds had a shortlist of vendors ready to go “from day dot”. Among them were Hello May friends Off The Hook, Bared Footwear, and oh-so talented photography duo Trent and Jessie, who caught every magical moment of this morning wedding (yep, you read right, and we are so here for it). THE VIBE “Our overall theme was ‘European luxury’. We wanted to keep it very minimal, with cool tones rather than warm ones. We felt like this reflected our personal style and stayed true to who we are. We wanted to fill the day with a lot of intentionality and thought.”
THE VENUE “Working in the industry, we wanted a venue that we hadn’t worked at, something that was unique and special to us. We had only seen one venue beforehand and that was because my friend and wedding coordinator (Elle Events Co) worked there, but we weren’t too keen. When we heard we’d be the first couple at The Grounds Estate we said yes!”
FAVE DETAILS “CUTTING MY HAIR – a surprise that was 1.5 years in the making. The film photography by Trent & Jessie and also Brie Conomos (another friend), and the Super 8 Footage by Joel & Courtney Films.”
DIY “We did all our favours which were just individual letters to each of our guests. My friend, and also stationary designer, Shani from Papier Stationery, suggested that we use vellum envelopes and on top a place card and pearl pin to hold it in place. This was a reference to our invitations which were made from vellum and a thick cotton paper. We also engraved our perfume/cologne ourselves, as well as styling and decor with the help of Eloise, my wedding coordinator.”
THE DRESS “My dress is from White Lily Couture and the designer was Martina Liana. I found my dress very quickly! I have a background in fashion so I knew what I wanted, and I knew a lot about fabrics and styling. I quickly eliminated what I didn’t like, but when I found my dress I had a funny feeling and jumped straight in!”
WE’RE GLAD WE… ‘Did a morning/daytime wedding. We aren’t big party people so we felt like this was really us. We wanted the day to be calm and relaxing for everyone. We also wanted to be intentional about our wedding day so having the evening to go out for dinner just the two of us and debrief the whole day was really special.

She is so talented and her and her husband have such a sweet, kind and soft essence that we felt just matched the day. Trent & Jessie (photographers) – no words, some of the kindest souls but also our sweetest friends. Seriously, everyone should book them.”
