If you know us at all, you’ll be aware that we love a dog in a wedding party – as do Charlotte and Jarod, apparently, who included their gorgeous groodle puppy Wilbur as their ring bearer! “We got him a little suit collar to match mine,” Jarod tells us. Naww!

As you can see in the fab snaps by the talented Katie Harmsworth, Wilbur totally made a splash, but he wasn’t the only standout. From the fab flowers (that these folks say “exceeded our floral expectations”) in “dusty pinks, nudes and toffee tones” to the matching tablecloths (courtesy of Found Collective, fyi), very bit of this magical day was totally lush.

THE VIBEWe wanted to celebrate our love in a romantic and intimate setting that honoured our relationship with each other and those closest to us. Jarod and I are ‘that couple’ who always hold hands so we asked Alexandra Creative to illustrate a pinky finger logo which we featured throughout the day.”

LITTLE LOL Our 8-month-old groodle puppy, Wilbur, was the ring bearer. He is incredibly food driven and loyal to the hand that feeds him above all else. When his time came to deliver the rings down the aisle, he refused to leave Caitlin from I Do Paws and her endless bag of treats. We had to get down on the ground and over-excitedly call his name to convince him to walk down the aisle.”

COOL CUSTOMWe incorporated my Welsh heritage into our ceremony by asking my Nain (Welsh for grandma) to do a reading in Welsh, which she translated to English. We also wanted to honour the love of our parents and grandparents so at our reception we had a ‘Generations of Love’ display which featured our families’ past wedding photos.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTThe moments between walking from the ceremony to the champagne tower were so special. We were both giggling like high-school sweethearts, high on endorphins and elated that we were finally husband and wife. It was one of the happiest moments of our lives.”

STANDOUT VENDORWe were thrilled to have the inimitable megastar photographer Katie Harmsworth fly over from Melbourne. Katie’s confidence and experience put us at ease knowing she would capture the day perfectly (and she did!). Our celebrant, Lauren The Celebrant (affectionately nicknamed the ‘Hype Beast’), also went way above and beyond our expectations. Her infectious positivity, larger-than-life personality and witty sense of humour kept our excitement levels at an all-time high. We had so many comments about how unique and personalised our ceremony was.”

Charlotte and Jarod made their first appearance in issue 35 of Hello May, which you can still grab at our online store along with a whole bunch of other amazing inspo (ahem, Real Wedding Special, Wedding Planning Guide). Over in that general direction, you’ll also find our directory, which is packed with amazing vendors like lens lady Katie Harmsworth, event studio Found Collective and so many more.
