Starting with a scavenger hunt, Carsten popped the question on a private gondola, decked out with flowers, snacks and wine. “He had organised for the operator to stop the gondola at the top of the wheel, and as the sun set over the river, he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him,” explains the bride. FAVE DETAILS “One of our favourite details of the day would have to be the flowers from The Flower Girl Perth! Our decorations were quite minimal, so the florals definitely took the spotlight. Clare from The Flower Girl Perth absolutely nailed it, we would choose her 1000 times over again and couldn’t recommend her enough!”
DIY “Wedding invites and website, menus, name tags, vow books, reception signs, hair and makeup [the bride is co-owner of Lemon Laine Collective], and guest favours. Baking, decorating and transporting the wedding cake and 50+ cupcakes to the venue! It was so stressful. If you’re choosing to DIY the wedding cake, no matter how much time you’ve set aside- set aside some more…”
COOL CUSTOM “We chose to have both of our Mums be the witnesses to our marriage certificate. They’re both just the most supportive, beautiful women and having them incorporated in the day was so special for us.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “We would recommend that anything DIY will take twice as long as you think it will. So, factor this into your timeline and try have fun along the way. We found planning over a good bottomless brunch to be the most effective decision making time.”
