We’re putting it on the record: beach weddings are always a good idea, and this happens to be one of the most thoughtfully curated ones that we’ve ever seen. From the uber-cool couple’s ‘fits – Felicity wore KYHA Studios and Sam rocked an M.J. Bale suit, FYI – to the immaculate styling, every little detail was just *chef’s kiss*. Of course, it did help that their vendors were an absolute dream team, including Mrs Gibbons Flowers sprinkling floral magic and Janneke Storm behind the lens. So go on, we know that you want to take a squiz…

THE VENUE “We had decided on Stradbroke Island before we were even engaged. We both loved spending time on the Island and Felicity spent most of her family holidays there growing up. You just couldn’t beat the view and location of the Surf Club [Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club].”

THE INSPO “Fun, beachy and coastal was our plan. We just wanted to make sure our guests had good food and drinks, and a fun upbeat vibe to celebrate and have a dance together.”

THE DRESS “I chose my dress a few weeks after getting engaged. I saw that Sphere Bridal Gallery had a pop up at The Calile Hotel so I took my Mum and sister along just to get an idea of styles as I had no clue what I wanted. Sarah from Sphere was really great at suggesting things for me to try on and we had a great morning. It’s also how I chose my florist as she had the most gorgeous display from Mrs Gibbons. We finished with a cocktail and lunch at The Calile – in hindsight it was a really special morning.”

THE SUIT “Sam absolutely loved his suit [from M.J. Bale], the fabric and fit were perfect.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTS “I loved our bridal party photos down on the gorg beach – it was so special to have a moment with our close friends to take some really beautiful photos. The pet sitter came also, and as soon as our dog Alfie was let off his lead he did so many celebratory zoomies (he was excited for us).”

A LITTLE LOL “We literally set the deck on fire before our first dance! Small incident with the sparkler lighting but luckily no one was harmed so it was quite funny.”

STANDOUT VENDORSLovebird Weddings went above and beyond! They really made sure the whole weekend ran smoothly and stood up to help other vendors so that the night was flawless. Janneke Storm was a breeze to work with from the beginning! A lovely person with so much experience in the industry and advice to share and help plan the day. We love being able to relive our wedding day through our photos, they capture the day so beautifully and are such special memories.”

Now, if you want to nab a few of Felicity and Sam’s chosen peeps for yourself, then we know just the place! Head to the Hello May Directory to get in touch with Janneke Storm, Mrs Gibbons Flowers and M.J. Bale. You’ve obviously got to check out their handiwork first though, so keep scrolling…
