We aren’t sure what we love most about Giulia and Rob’s pristine day because it’s all bloody brilliant. Opting for a “still life” vibe this bride is literally living her best life, in a customised L’eto Bridal gown no less. The sweeping expanses of Berrima’s Bendooley Estate hosted the super chic nuptials that boasted an all-white bride tribe and foliage-less florals. Keeping things simple was the aim of the game from D&D Letterpress’ minimalist invitations right through to the simple white tiers of the duo’s wedding cake. THE VENUE “We knew we always wanted to get married outside of Sydney, somewhere inland. We used to drive down the coast to the Sutherland highlands so that really drew us to look around there. I came across Bendooley one day on Instagram and we decided to take a drive one day, met the owner and pretty much made the decision then and there.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Cara at Trille Floral exceeded my expectations. The tables were so breathtaking and she really captured the image I had in my head (even though I changed my mind every week). We also had a vintage cream Mercedes that dropped me off at the ceremony and took Rob and I off for the night. Our driver was the most lovely man and really calmed me before we got there. Rob is really into cars as well so it was a treat for him too.”
DIY “I made all the wedding favours, all 150 of them! My sister in law and myself make wedding favours and candles as a side hobby. I sourced these gorgeous vintage deco candle vessels and made 150 scented soy candles. I also left this until the week of the wedding which was a stretch but I’m so happy that I did it and our guests could take home something hand made.”
THE DRESS “I had a dress set in my mind from day one and I spent four months trying to find it. I even almost bought a dress from Israel! Thankfully, I stumbled across Anya at L’eto Bridal and went out to visit her in Newport one day. I remember walking into her store and thinking ‘this is it’! Anya ended up custom making my dress from me. We took designs from two of her existing gowns and made some adjustments to create mine. Anya was seriously amazing and made me feel so confident on the day. I recommend her to everyone I know getting married as her passion and care are just amazing.”
LITTLE LOL “I was getting ready to put my dress on as our photographer and videographer’s had just arrived. As I went to do this, I realised I had left my underwear back in Sydney! I ended up having to take one of my bridesmaids underwear (thank god for bridesmaids) and it all worked out but I definitely had a mini freak out!”
WE’RE GLAD WE…”We were so privileged to have had my grandparents sign our wedding registry on the day. It was incredibly special and something we will both always remember.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Justin Aaron our photographer. I’m pretty sure I had picked him before I even got engaged haha. Justin is so effortless and relaxed and just made us feel so comfortable. He really captured the day like a fly on the wall. We shared a few laughs and I am just so happy I have these special memories to keep forever! Also, The White Tree. I watch our video every day! They captured the entire day like they were guests. No one felt like they were in the way or that they were forcing them to do anything for the camera. Seriously cool guys!”
