Hope and Rhys had a motto when organising their wedding: “Plan the wedding we would want to attend”. We are so on board with that! And for these two (who’ve been “inseparable” since meeting in high school), that meant an “intimate, relaxed and light-hearted” vibe.

Now, if you need a lesson on getting a truly amazing team of vendors together, take note from these two, who got – in our humble opinion – one of the best line-ups possible for their big day. From epic snaps by Miranda Stokkel to jaw-dropping styling and planning by Whole Lotta Love Creative, stationery and signage sweetness courtesy of Laura Elizabeth Design and a phenom cake by Mad About Cakes – not to mention those looks, ooft!

With suit perfection for the groom from Oscar Hunt (plus glam looks for Rhys’ guys and Hope’s ‘bridesmate’, who wore M.J. Bale), a ring worth writing home about from Larsen, and a dreamy bridal makeup look by Stephanie Jane, these nups are getting 10/10 from us!

FAVE DETAILS “We wanted to ensure that everything had a touch of our personality and so for the signage we included a twist on some of our favourite bands or song names. For the bar sign we had “Sugar, we’re going down drinking”, which was a play on Fall Out Boy’s Sugar, We’re Goin Down. A little bit of emo nostalgia to reflect the memories we had at gigs or festivals together as teens.”

REFERENCES “Our wedding planner, Agi from Whole Lotta Love Creative, put us in contact with a number of high-quality vendors such as our photographer (Miranda Stokkel), florist (Wild Flos) and graphic designer (Laura Elizabeth Design). As for the rest, I did a lot of research on sites such as Hello May to find reputable vendors such as my makeup artist (Stephanie Jane), hair stylist (Nicole Kene) and my accessories.”

THE SUIT “The suit was a gift I organised for Rhys’ graduation and we always joked that he would one day wear it to our wedding. For Rhys being 6’7, a bespoke suit was the only option, and Oscar Hunt provided a professional service that felt incredibly unique and luxurious. With the help of the consultant, he opted for a light grey, three piece suit that was perfectly tailored to fit. Four years on he loved it enough to wear in on our wedding day.”

TAKE ON TRADITION “We really tried to buck as many traditions as possible to help with the low-key vibe. This meant having my mum as my maid of honour, who walked me down the aisle, a bridesmate and a best friend as our celebrant.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “We felt extraordinarily lucky to have Miranda Stokkel capture the stunning photos on our wedding day. She has an incredible personality that makes her blend in like part of your wedding party whilst capturing all of those candid moments between you and your friends. We chose Miranda for the way her photos always seem natural, relaxed and fun, and she did not disappoint.”
