Jayde and Cree, both talented tattoo artists, recently tied the knot on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, and oh my what a magical day it was, largely thanks to the efforts of their friends and family (shout out to Grandpa for supplying the car) and two of our all-time fave vendors, Queensland photographer Bonnie Jenkins and Maroochydore based bridal boutique Sphere Collective. Just see what the bride herself has to say…

THE VENUE “Our venue [Hidden Valley Yandina] was the first venue we’d seen. Our wedding was in Spring so we definitely wanted an outdoor wedding to make the most of the weather. We also wanted somewhere with lots of greenery and would basically let us do whatever we wanted. It was a blank canvas, which was at times stressful, but amazing because it was really personal.”

THE VIBE “When we first set our date, we wanted a kind of boho vibe. But then once I got my dress, we took a more modern and clean approach. A lot of white and neutral tones. We wanted the vibe to be very relaxed and a big party. Good tunes and cocktails were essential!”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We were obsessed with our flowers! Emilia from Bloodwood Botanica exceeded our expectations with the bouquets and arbour setup. Every flower tied in so well with the bridesmaid outfits and I loved how each bouquet was different to match the different outfits.”

THE DRESS “I came across the Jane Hill Dolce dress on Instagram a month or so after getting engaged. I instantly fell in love with it but didn’t get too excited as I also wasn’t sure if I could have made the trips to Melbourne for fittings. It was like the universe was telling me to get this dress because the next day, Sphere Collective posted about a Jane Hill trunk show. I took my mum, aunty and nan with me and I tried on a few dresses and actually loved them all. The Dolce was the last gown I tried on and as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one. I found the experience so fun and easy thanks to Sarah at Sphere Collective.”

A LITTLE LOL “My poppy owns a 1966 Ford Mustang and insisted that he would drive me in it to the ceremony. Leading up to the wedding it was in and out of the mechanics so it would be in perfect working order for the big day. It was a family joke how funny it would be if it didn’t start on the day. On the way to the ceremony we got in the Mustang and my poppy went to turn on the ignition and it wouldn’t start. He instantly got really sweaty and was in a little bit of a panic. Thankfully after 10 minutes of playing around under the hood, it started and I wasn’t too late for the ceremony – haha!”

STANDOUT VENDORSBonnie Jenkins was so amazing from start to finish. We loved getting our photos with her on the day and we are so in love with every single photo!”
