Kate and Matt’s epic nuptials originally appeared in the 2021 Real Wedding Special (sadly now sold out, but you can still get your hands on Vol 8 – with a cheeky free gift included) and we’re stoked to share it here on the blog today. These two clever cuties new a thing or two about assembling a bunch of legends as vendors. THE VENUE “We settled on The Calile Hotel straightaway. We loved the palm springs, relaxed but classy vibes and it just felt so ‘us’. It was really important to us to have the ceremony and reception in one location so that once people had arrived they could just relax and enjoy the day.”

THE INSPO “The Calile Hotel is very light and airy, and we really wanted to offset the light colours with a dark and moody colour palette. Florals were so important to us and we really trusted in Amber from Mrs Gibbons Flowers to deliver on what we wanted.”

THE DRESS “All of my married girlfriends recommended Sphere Bridal Gallery in Maroochydore and told me how amazing Sarah was, so I knew straightaway that I had to go there. Sarah was so knowledgeable and I felt really comfortable. After I picked a Jane Hill Bridal gown, I kept seeing other dresses I loved and because I had only tried my dress on once, I kept second guessing myself. Each time I started to worry I just reminded myself how we all cried when I tried it on and that helped me worry less! I have spoken to lots of other brides who have felt the same.”

FAVE DEETS “Florals. Florals. Florals. Honestly – we both loved them so much. The arbour was so epic, and the way that the candles and florals were set in the arch windows in the reception room was perfection. Oh and the table centrepieces were amazing too – we had a feasting style menu which meant we needed to have less florals on the table so that there was room for all of the food… Amber from Mrs Gibbons Flowers had the tall floral centrepiece stands custom made for me as a surprise and they were amazing!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “Trusted in our suppliers to nail our vision without getting too involved in all of the smaller details. We didn’t know exactly how everything was ‘meant’ to look, which meant we just got to appreciate the results!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “The best we received was to set aside time once a week to talk about the wedding together otherwise it can become all consuming. Oh and don’t drink too much the night before like we did!”
