Originally Kiara and Mike had hoped to get married in stunning Puglia, Italy, and based their inspo for the wedding off a long lazy lunch watching the sunset over the vibrant coastal town. It may not have ended up in Italy, but Creative Events Byron Bay helped inject some Mediterranean magic into The Orchard Estate, situated in the Northern Rivers hinterland, when these two cuties became Mr & Mrs. Wilde Visual worked the cameras, scroll down to see…

THE VENUE “We were taken by surprise when we arrived at The Orchard Estate. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It is set on top on the hills in the Byron Bay hinterland so the view was uninterrupted and perfect for sunset. It was one of only a couple in the area that could accomodate a larger guest list and was the only one which would allow us to do the entire dinner outside without organising a marquee. This was the biggest selling point for us and we knew if it did come down to weather we could just simply decide on the day to set up in the barn beside it.”

THE VIBE “We loved the idea of the whole day outside, not too formal, having lots of food and soaking up the long sunset.”

FAVE DEETS “Gosh everything! Mike created all of our invites and stationery which was special. Our cake was also was a stand out. It was almost a metre wide. I literally wouldn’t fit in the cool room so Sammy [from Hello Little Crumb] brought it straight in later in the evening.

REFERENCES “Our planner Kiera from Creative Events Byron Bay was a big help with knowing who the go-to vendors were, especially when you have to think about getting all the basic things like enough chairs, cutlery, types of glasses etc.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Leave empty space in your run sheet. We chose to have our ceremony at 3pm (ended up closer to 4 with the car delays!) so we didn’t feel like the whole day was on a strict schedule. It gave us time to speak to guests, take lots of photos, sit down and eat, all things the can be a struggle for couples to fit in usually.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “Our photographers Wilde Visual for sure! They just felt like our guests. Everyone commented on how natural it felt and they brought the best out of every moment captured without forcing it. Bruno from Terra Catering. He just got what we wanted being from Italy and we knew he was really excited about pulling it together. We still have our friends say to us how amazing the food was especially the live prosciutto and cheese stations.”
