After more than seven years together, Kirby and Brenton “wanted to get married fairly quickly (before we got any more wrinkles),” they told us, taking a v respectable 18 months to get their big day sorted. And ooft, talk about sorted this – this vendor lineup was lit!

So, who were these magic folks? They had Madeline Kate on pics, Jackson Grant Weddings (with some help from Alex Tuohy) on film, Gibson Clothing and Peggy and Finn taking care of Brenton’s ‘fit, and a flippin’ gorgeous Natalie Marie Jewellery ring… “I can’t pick one favourite!” says the bride of her team. Have a scroll and have a  read, friends, and we think it’ll become pretty clear, pretty quick, why Kirby and Brenton were so darn chuffed!

THE VENUE “Both Brenton and I grew up on the coast past Geelong, so it was a perfect spot for us. There were three main things we were after – good quality food and wine, somewhere that didn’t require a whole lot of decoration or effort to make beautiful, and we wanted the ceremony and reception in same location. Provenance Wines ticked all those boxes! We had lunch there and were blown away by how good the food was. Brenton loves wine and used to work in the industry and he approved. We thought the venue was stunning and had such a wow factor – I knew I wouldn’t have to do much on the day (and I actually didn’t!) The staff were also super helpful and lovely.”

THE VIBE “Our vibe for the day was relaxed and fun. We didn’t want to follow strict timelines or be too serious. I didn’t feel like it had to be a ‘perfect’ day, we just wanted to feel like we were having an epic party with all our friends and family. We also threw out a lot of wedding traditions that didn’t feel right to us.”

LITTLE LOL “Is buying our outfits one month out from the wedding funny? I guess now it’s over we can say it was! I actually had no idea what I was going to wear the night before our wedding, I took about five different dresses to my Airbnb and decided the morning of our wedding and then returned the rest after it… Funny or insane?!”

WORD OF ADVICE “A friend suggested creating a new Instagram account and following all things wedding related on there. It’s a great way of finding inspiration without clogging up your normal feed! I found so many ideas and vendors by doing this.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Videographer Jackson Grant Weddings was literally the first vendor we booked in. I never really thought we’d ‘have’ to have a video but as soon as I saw his style I knew I had to have one. Unfortunately, he got Covid the day before our wedding and couldn’t make it – we were so devastated. I don’t know how he did it but he somehow managed to get Axel Tuohy on board (at like 6 pm the night before) to shoot the footage, and then Jackson edited it to put his touch on it, it turned out incredibly! Our photographer Madeline Kate was also amazing. She absolutely nailed the brief of fun and candid. I can’t even remember her being around half the time and yet she got some really great photos, she’s a wizard!”
