These two clever cats – not to mention creative – are giving the backyard wedding a good name in their nuptials held at their gorgeous home in Country Victoria. Adam, a self-confessed ‘botanical nerd’ is the groom and florist thanks to his biz, Rue d’Fleur, and Liam is “an Irish dancing teacher with a corporate 9-5 on the side.” See, we told you they were creative! We think you’d agree their wedding is equal parts cute and cool and with pics by the talented Jackson Grant Weddings, we have it all for you to peruse at your leisure below.

THE INSPO “Moving to regional Victoria and many weekends just the two of us during the dreaded lockdowns, we had plenty of Saturday nights in our pyjamas, a few G&Ts, dancing around the house and letting loose to Donna Summer records. Disco became our uplifting pandemic soundtrack. So it became inevitable that a disco in the country would become the perfect way to celebrate. We knew all of our guests would love dancing the night away surrounded by disco balls.”

FAVE DEETS “The colour palette was a really important detail for us. We made sure our bridal party hit the brief when choosing the colours of their outfits and the tones of the streamers and flowers also complimented the entire day. It was a beautiful, autumnal vision!”

REFERENCES “There was plenty of Instagram searching! It’s all about finding the right hashtag and sifting through to find what you’re after! Dos Amigos Catering was our Spanish/ Mexican food truck and their menu choices were perfect, as was Connoleria. The diversity of Hello May helped narrow down some choices too!”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “I think we can both say holding our parents’ hands just before we walked out of the house and down the aisle was an extremely special moment.”

MARRIAGE MEANS “A lifetime more of lounge room discos and travel adventures.”

LITTLE LOLS “Oh gosh, so many! Adam’s Carrie Bradshaw moment when putting on his bow tie (“It’s too tight, I can’t breathe! Take it off!) … thankfully ended better than Carrie’s engagement to Aidan. One of our bridal party angling for their own Netflix comedy special with a 12-minute speech, Adam’s eternally late boss didn’t disappoint by rocking up in the work van just after we said “I do”, the drunk auntie drinking from the bottle and requesting the Macarena (that’s a hard pass!).”

STANDOUT VENDORSJackson Grant Weddings (photographer) was absolutely phenomenal. From the first time we met him and took him for a local parma, we knew we’d met someone special and we all connected immediately. He was beyond amazing in all aspects.
