Nick met McKenna while travelling through the USA, where she’s from. They hit it off and after a short stint living in America, the pair made the move to Australia and got engaged. They held their beautiful wedding at the always beautiful Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, which the bride – drop dead gorg in Grace Loves Lace – described as perfect because, “it had literally everything in one location and allowed for a two-night stay. With my closest friends and family traveling from the United States, this allowed everyone to have more time to meet and get to know each other.” Thankfully for us, the uber-talented Translucent Photography was on-hand to document this sweet celebration. THE DRESSGrace Loves Lace at the Grounds of Alexandria in NSW was the only store I went to. I picked five dresses to try and instantly found the dress! I knew I had found the one when I walked out and saw myself, my mum, mother-in-law and sister-in-law crying in the mirror. It was such a special experience for all of us.

REFERENCES “My mother-in-law actually got me a copy of Hello May where I initially got a lot of inspiration for our wedding day. I ended up finding many of my key vendors through Instagram and close friends and family.”

FAVE DEETS “Definitely our flowers! Ivy Lane Collective did an amazing job bringing my vision to life. From my bridal bouquet to the eucalyptus runners on the tables, it was all perfect. I also loved the personal details/accessories that Nick and I wore on our day. Nick’s watch was his late pop’s and my jewellry was either my ‘something borrowed’ or a piece that was gifted to me on the day. Every piece we wore had a special meaning to us. “

WE’RE REALLY GLAD WE… “did a silent disco! Since we were married on a weekday, there were noise restrictions requiring all amplified music to be turned off at 10pm. We felt this was way too early for the party to end, so we decided to do a silent disco from 10pm onwards. We weren’t really sure how it would go, but it ended up being such a hit with our guests.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Translucent Photography was amazing. I mean, look at these pictures! Lucy was so fun and easy to work with. She got along so great with us and all of our guests. Rabbit and Co. also made the best food! We loved that they did a huge food tasting at the venue a few months prior and offered a variety of food packages and options. All of our guests were so impressed.”

LITTLE LOL “Nick is usually the one who is very hungover and sick. I remember constantly reminding him to pace himself to avoid it happening at the wedding. Turns out, I was the one that had too many mixed drinks making me so hungover that I couldn’t leave my cabin or say goodbye to our guests. Nick wouldn’t let me live it down and kept saying,’ Oh, how the tables have turned!'”

If you’re still searching for your dream dress, definitely check out Grace Loves Lace – their sustainability ethos is *chef’s kiss* and their designs are bloody dreamy.
