Meet Melody and Lucian, better known to their people as Mel and Goose. After 12 years together, they got married in the heart of Auckland at Glasshouse, and tell us they wanted it to “feel warm, romantic and natural. We created a cosy vibe in the evening as if our guests were coming over to our house to have dinner.” So sweet. LITTLE LOL “We showed our flatmate our vows before the wedding to make sure they were somewhat aligned and found out we had both quoted the rapper Little Simz!”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “My dress is from a Taiwanese designer. Being from Taiwan, I wanted to present that side of my culture at the wedding. We also had a Taiwanese farewell ceremony prior to the ceremony. This is a tradition where the bride says farewell to her parents. It is a moment for the bride to thank her parents for all their hard work raising her.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Know your budget, be organised but have fun. There are many ways to do one thing, pick the one that suits you and your partner the most. Minimise your stress on the day by being organised but also picking vendors you trust. Remember to focus on some of the key things that will make you feel special and important. Don’t do anything that doesn’t feel right! ”
