Guys, we can’t enough of cuties Nina and Pete. Together for 12 years, and head over heels for one another, marriage “was a beautiful way to celebrate combined love and commitment,” Pete shares. “To stand in front of those you love, speak words of meaning to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and have those words echo through each and everyone in attendance that she is my one and only, no matter what. That is just so powerful to me.” Awww, you guys! Pete also took Nina’s last name, which we absolutely love and Nina is on coud nine since becoming a Mrs. “It feels weird to say you are the happiest you’ve ever been as an outcome of being married, but that’s how I’ve been feeling.”
The over-the-moon newylweds got married at the stunning Stones of The Yarra Valley, with the help of a few of our faves: Ladybird Cakes, Oscar Hunt Tailors, Moonstruck Bride and the amazing Georgia Verrells, who took the beautiful snaps you’ll see below. What are you waiting for…
THE VIBE “As a couple we would describe ourselves as two geeky vegans, who love coffee, playing video games and watching anime. With a love for all things fantasy, our theme for the wedding was romantic autumnal folklore. We wanted a magical woodland vibe that is whimsical and not too traditional. Making sure the catering of our wedding was fully vegan was also an important factor for us – we loved our vegan chocolate espresso cake from Ladybird Cakes.”
THE DRESS “I found my dress at Moonstruck Bride – the most magical bridal store in Melbourne. The staff made me feel so special and I had the best time. I fell in love with the Lunella by Willowby – she is sparkly and soft champagne, with a dreamy A-line silhouette that feels vintage.”
WE’RE SO GLAD WE… “Did our first look photos. As there is less light at the end of the day in autumn, it meant we were able to make use of the daylight and really capture some special moments. Also having our two-year-old furbaby toy cavoodle Hiro come to the wedding was the best decision. We were both worried that including Hiro was maybe indulgent and potentially a stress point for the day. However, we really treasure the memories and photos Georgia Verrells took of our little guy and us.”
LITTLE LOL “I am a very emotional person, and the wedding was proving to be a test of my composure. I failed spectacularly as I found myself overwhelmed with happiness, excitement, nervousness over and over. So much so that, as I was standing at the altar waiting for the ceremony to begin, watching as guests entered the chapel, followed by my groomsfolk, I found I couldn’t hold in my tears. I would do this so often that Georgia would see me start to get emotional, and start to cry herself. At one point she came up to me and said, ‘Pete, you gotta stop crying! Every time you start crying – I start crying too!’ We had a nice laugh about it.”

She is not only an amazing photographer but a professional who goes the extra mile to make her clients feel supported and uplifted. Our wedding day was unreal and Georgia absolutely nailed it, capturing the day so beautifully. We are so in love with our photos.
