Their wedding was postponed twice due to COVID, but once it finally happened (three and a half years after the proposal, no less), wow, was it one to remember! “The weather was terrible on our two initial wedding dates – disastrous for our outdoor ceremony,” tells the groom (who was decked out in Oscar Hunt Tailors), “but on our actual day, the weather was perfect. It made us feel like it was all meant to be!” Add an exquisite cake by The Bake Space and pics by loveable lens lady, Katie Harmsworth and you have a recipe for a darn good wedding! THE VENUEPenfolds (Magill Estate Cellar Door) is not only beautiful, with amazing food and wine, but also very close to the city, making it convenient for guests traveling from interstate. We’d never seen the underground tunnels before. It blew us away down there. It’s a totally unique space with a real wow factor.”

THE INSPO “The overall mood we went for on the day was a mix of industrial, architectural and romantic. We had concrete breeze blocks and mirrored plinths contrasted with dreamy, textured linens, candles, and white florals.”

THE DRESS “My gown, Maticevski from Bluebell Bridal, was timeless but with a little twist. I found the overall experience quite overwhelming and difficult. I didn’t get to have all the fittings and appointments with family and my bridesmaids like I had dreamed of, due to COVID restrictions. I just had to go with my gut and pick the dress that felt most like me (and I’m still so happy with it!)”

THE SUIT “My groomsmen and I got our suits from Oscar Hunt Tailors. They gave the best first impression and made me feel most comfortable. I was especially happy with our fitter Wei, who made everything really easy and fun. I couldn’t recommend them enough.”

REFERENCES “We found the majority of our wedding vendors through Instagram and various Hello May magazines.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Trust in your vendors. You can’t be across every detail in the lead up to (and on the day of) the wedding, so remember that you’ve picked your vendors for a reason and trust that your amazing team will bring your vision to life.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our event manager from Penfolds, Milly, was amazing. She went above and beyond to make the whole experience special and was so incredibly accommodating. Also, Katie Harmsworth and Tango Films were not only lots of fun on the day and made us feel so comfortable, but are just so talented. We will cherish our photos and video forever.”
