Taylah and Paul have a totally modern love story (and we’re her for it). “Paul and I have been together for six years,” the bride tells us. “We met after I slid into his DMs. The picture he had on his profile with two massive dogs got some serious love heart eyes and the rest is history!”

Ah, dogs, bringing people together and sparking love… But enough of our pooch obsession, let’s get back to this couple’s big day! We’re vibing all the bright florals and the total party atmosphere, which is exactly what Taylah had in mind when planning. “We asked our guests to dress in their ‘brightest best’. I’m like a magpie when it comes to colour and loved seeing everyone dressed so vibrant on the day.” Us too, gal – just check out all the fun times in the amazing photos by total legend Peggy Saas!

THE VENUE “We wanted somewhere central, with an indoor/outdoor aspect, somewhere with modern interiors and a unique element but we also didn’t want a blank canvas. We settled on Storehouse Subiaco as it ticked every box on our very particular list. Our wedding was Storehouse’s first and it was perfect for us, especially during golden hour.”

THE DRESS “I had two dresses. My beautiful gown was Galia Lahav from Dion For Brides. Rachel, the lady who sold me the dress was possibly the nicest person I have ever met. Maevana designed my amazingly fun little mini dress, which was perfect for dancing, as well as making my uniquely beautiful veil. I was the first person to ever wear them both, so it felt super special. I loved having a second dress as it meant optimal partying, which is so important to this dancing queen!”

REFERENCES “Mostly a mix of word of mouth and trawling through Hello May blog posts!”

TAKE ON TRADITION “We had the tarantella play once the dancefloor opened. I find it is such a fun way to get all of the zias and zios up onto the d-floor!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m so glad we did our choreographed jive dance, even though it took a while to convince Paul that it would be fun. He really got into it in the end as well. Rightfully so – we had been practising for months! I also loved having Mark there as our saxophone player as it created a vibe that was so electric from his being such a great entertainer.”

STANDOUT VENDORPeggy Saas, our photographer was so incredibly lovely and I absolutely adore her documentary style of shooting. She captures everything on the day as it unfolds, all our pictures are so natural and authentically us.”
