Opting to skip the “engagement part”, Jocelyn and Tom tied the knot just six weeks after they decided to “do this thing!”. They went for a low-key “family get together” vibe and it was the moody Kangaroo Valley that set the scene for this vintage garden party. Think home-cooked food, DIY florals and a warm and intimate guest list of eight. The day was so relaxed that the couple were still in their pyjamas when their guests arrived. Goals? Mhm. Scroll down to catch more gorgeous snaps from HM faves, Corinna & Dylan

THE VENUE “Ever since I was a young girl I have loved Kangaroo Valley. As you drive down the mountain range and enter the town, I think no matter how many times you do it, you are still in awe. Another reason we chose Kangaroo Valley is for us it is the meeting point between the Southern Highlands (where I grew up and where my daughter was born) and our new home on the South Coast of NSW. Crystal Creek was a beautiful country cottage I thought was perfect. I drove down during spring when the cherry blossoms were out and that sort of cemented my colour palette for the day. Initially, I wanted warm moody colours but as soon as I saw the garden there I knew it wouldn’t suit and it needed to be more light pinks and white.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The table setting and flower arrangement. I picked them up at a flower farm the day before and took a gamble doing a table garland myself and it turned out better than I could imagine. Our beautiful friend Elly made our cake, It was a raw vegan raspberry cheesecake. She had her husband outside chainsawing a tree to put it on. She definitely added extra love to it. My daughter wore a light pink linen Spell dress that tied into the flowers and she looked so beautiful.”

DIY “We did everything ourselves! I’m too picky to let someone else do it and I had such a distinct vision of what I wanted. I spent the weeks before on Pinterest getting ideas. We are lucky to live near some amazing flower farms, so the day before I choose the flowers I wanted from the colour palette I had in mind and then that night whilst it poured down rain in Kangaroo Valley, I laid all the flowers on the deck outside and put together our bouquets and floral rings. The next morning I made the flower garland and decorated the table. I found some amazing vintage cutlery from Vinnies and the set out was one of my favourite things of the day. Tom cooked and all the family were in the kitchen putting the last touches together. Tom is an amazing cook and it felt like a family dinner with the excitement of when everyone comes home for a special occasion.”

LITTLE LOL “We left our raw vegan cake in the car and it melted! Tom and I were patching it back together in the kitchen that morning! Lucky everyone thought it was meant to look lopsided!!”

STANDOUT VENDORSCorinna and Dylan. They are our friends now. They made us feel so comfortable and they are so talented. I’m so picky about photography and there is nothing worse than bad, cheesy wedding photos. The photos are so raw and real and capture atmosphere and emotion like nothing I have seen before. They are also just the coolest couple and they went above and beyond for us and braced the freezing kangaroo valley rain for hours getting the photos.”
