Yibing and Jack recently tied the knot in Gleniffer on the NSW North Coast, a secluded spot nestled between Never Never and the Doirgo National Park and the beautiful Bongil Bongil National Park. They had a few of our fave vendors along for the ride including photographer Scott Surplice Photography, who was kind enough, along with the newlyweds, to share this epic day of days with us. What can we say, we’re smitten with the bride’s Karen Willis Holmes gown and stunning Natalie Marie Jewellery rings and Bared Footwear heels, but we’ll let Yibing (or Bing as she’s known to her friends and fam) fill you in on the rest…

THE INSPOThe inspiration changed a lot between 2020 and 2022. The theme was originally quite rustic and neutral. We wanted to keep things fun and bright for our celebration as everyone had been through so much. We just wanted a big party. Hello May was a big source of information for us to gather inspiration”.

DIYWe did many DIY projects but my favourite was the gum leaf confetti. I overestimated the task. In the end, my mum and my bridesmaids spent a few hours the day before the wedding to help make enough confetti for our recession walk down the aisle. It was absolutely worth it though!”

THE DRESSMy dress was the Margareta from Karen Willis Holmes. After my appointment, I was initially set on another dress but kept on seeing Margareta on Instagram and couldn’t stop thinking about her for a few weeks. When I put her on at my second appointment, I knew it was the one. I had so much fun trying on dresses! Especially because Karen was at the Paddington store for my first appointment and helped with all my dresses. I was fangirling hard”.

A WORD OF ADVICEDon’t rush to decide anything. The information out there can be overwhelming and it is easy to get swept up in whatever is trendy at the time without really thinking about what you would prefer. There are so many talented vendors out there who will be able to create your vision, you shouldn’t rush to lock in anyone just to avoid feeling FOMO. Also, don’t bite off more than you can chew. Wedding planning and organising is stressful and take all the help you can get to make the process pleasant and as stress-free as possible”.

STANDOUT VENDORSScott Surplice, our photographer, was obviously our favourite. We have been big fans of Scott’s work for a long time and having him at our wedding in our favourite place ever was just an absolute dream. Scott made us feel so at ease the entire day, he felt more like a friend who was attending the wedding. He captured some truly beautiful moments of our friends and family which we didn’t get to see on the day and that was really special”.
