Sabrina and Nathan opted for a theme of ‘timeless elegance’ come their big day and let us tell you, we are feeling it. Channelling all the extra vibes and living our greatest royal fantasy, Sabrina walked down the aisle to the sweet serenade of a full choir, soprano and tenor included. There to capture it all was Perth based superstar James Simmons Photography. So, do scroll down…

THE VENUE “We didn’t see too many venues beforehand as we knew we didn’t want to have the wedding at a hotel which, with our numbers, then limited our options. We liked the look and feel of it [South of Perth Yacht Club] being by the water, and also the fact it was the site of our first “outing” together at a new years day event.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “My mum and Nonna filled two suitcases with coffee grinders (which made part of our bonbonniere) and transported them from Italy. They checked in at the airport with 96.7kg of luggage, just under their 97kg limit – which would have looked very suss! We both love coffee so the grinder and the coffee bean mix (which we created ourselves after many tastings with family) were perfect. We also loved the work Katie Cooper did with our flowers, especially the flower rings and all of our printing by Fenton Ink which highlighted the simple but elegant look we were after.”

THE DRESS “I knew from day one that I wanted to wear my mother’s wedding dress as it was designed and made by my Nonna and holds a special place in my heart. On a holiday to Italy Nonna made me go wedding dress shopping to ensure the fit of the dress would be suitable. This experience just confirmed that I was going to wear my mother’s dress. Nonna travelled back to Australia and assisted with the alterations of the dress. It was a very special experience for me, my mum and Nonna. It was also very touching for my dad who saw me, his daughter, in the dress once worn by his wife on their wedding day.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Be organised, have a spreadsheet, and lock in your key vendors early as it will save a lot of stress down the track.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…”We are very glad we started early (1 pm ceremony, guests arriving at the reception at 4 pm) to ensure we weren’t rushed during the day. It gave us the opportunity to mingle with our guests for an hour or so before the formalities of the evening which freed up our time to relax, let our hair down and enjoy the night.”
